Previous to his current role, Myles was a Manager in Ernst & Young’s (EY) Financial Services Office serving the asset management, banking and capital markets industries, providing external auditing and advisory services to both public and private clients, including hedge funds, private equity funds, business development companies, family offices, government-sponsored entities, and investment banks.
He has extensive experience in performing testing, analysis and review of valuation methodologies for equity, debt and derivative investments. Although his portfolio of clients included a wide array of asset managers, he is a highly knowledgeable resource for the Business Development Company industry and more broadly, 10-K and 10-Q reporting requirements, as well as requirements under Regulation S-X.
His banking and capital market advisory experience includes supporting the implementation of enhanced prudential standards issued by the Federal Reserve Board for regulatory reporting (FR Y-9C, FR Y-11) for a multinational investment bank. He led the development of a customized transaction testing approach for various financial activities, including: Mortgage Backed Securities, servicing, securitization, asset-sales, variable interest entities, and derivatives.
His asset management advisory experience includes being engaged by a sophisticated family office to perform an assessment of their risk management, financial reporting and accounting infrastructure. Myles led a multi-phased project team in the identification of business requirements and existing deficiencies.
During his time at EY, Myles was an active member of EY’s learning faculty and has led courses on a variety of technical accounting, audit, and financial reporting matters.
Myles earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University where he graduated cum laude.
Corky brings valuable insights and relationships built over a career that exceeds 30 years in the investment banking, capital markets and asset management industries. Corky has extensive experience raising equity and debt financing for various types of asset managers and other private companies.
Corky began his career at Lehman Brothers on their fixed income sales desk in 1988. After his time at Lehman, he was a Managing Director overseeing fixed income sales at both DLJ and its successor company, Credit Suisse. Throughout his various roles at Lehman, DLJ and Credit Suisse, Corky has had a primary focus on and has developed a deep knowledge of many fixed income products and esoteric securities, including; Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs).
In 2002, Corky was a founding partner at the Winter Group (Terwin Advisors, LLC). The Winter Group primarily focused on mortgage loan origination and securitization. In 2014, as a partner of a tax lien investment fund, he managed the rehabilitation and sale of the fund’s REO portfolio.
Corky was a Managing Director at G2 Investment Group and Castle Placement, where he raised debt and equity financing for private companies. Prior to his current role, Corky was the director of acquisitions at Dyck O’Neal, a national debt collector of mortgage deficiencies, unsecured second liens, personal guarantees on “fix and flip” loans, and first lien charge-offs.
Corky earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary and received his MBA from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Prior to his current role, Damian was a Portfolio Manager at BlackRock focused on US residential mortgage opportunities. He was responsible for managing a mortgage servicing rights (“MSRs”) portfolio with an unpaid principal balance in excess of $180 billion and over $2 billion in non-performing and re-performing whole loans. Damian has extensive experience modeling and pricing the acquisitions of MSRs and whole loans.
He is involved in every aspect of MSR trading and portfolio management, including but not limited to, sourcing portfolios for bid, pricing and bidding, coordination with transaction management and execution on financing facilities. He is responsible for allocation, risk management and performance monitoring. He has built numerous pricing models to value MSRs, RPL and NPL portfolios. In his first role at BlackRock, he was responsible for providing risk management advisory services to many of the nation’s largest mortgage banks and servicers. For approximately three years, Damian worked with many of the largest MSR owners and specialized in MSR risk management, providing valuations and hedge advice.
Prior to his various roles at BlackRock, he worked at MIAC, a mortgage analytics advisory firm, providing capital markets services to mid-size mortgage banks and non-bank mortgage originators. He additionally worked for American Home Mortgage for five years. His responsibilities included trading whole loans, securitization and managing interest rate risk.
Mr. Pasternak earned a BA degree in finance from Towson University and an MBA degree in finance from Hofstra University. He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2007.
Prior to his current role, Mark was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager within the securitized assets investment team at BlackRock. He had a primary focus on structuring investments in non-agency mortgage securities, mortgage servicing rights (MSR’s), mortgage loans, esoteric structured products and day to day operations of a REIT. During his time at BlackRock, he negotiated the acquisition of MSRs with a notional unpaid principal balance in excess of $180 billion, structured and managed a REIT with a focus on single family rental loan acquisition, facilitated the acquisition of a mortgage loan origination company, including pursuit of state and agency licensing transition, structured and settled nearly $2 billion in non-performing and re-performing mortgage loans and secured MSR financing in excess of $1 billion.
Mark is intimately involved in structuring, sourcing and negotiating each MSR transaction (in excess of 45 separate portfolios acquired) and engaged with a multitude of sellers to launch an MSR flow program. Mark maintains significant relationships with brokers, servicing partners and related market participants. He is responsible for servicer oversight including continuous monitoring, engagement and semi-annual onsite performance and corporate evaluations.
Mark spent six years as a Senior Vice President at Specialized Loan Servicing LLC, where he managed the full cycle of mortgage servicing rights acquisitions and sales, negotiated advance financing transactions and as a part of the business development team, was responsible for the day to day management of whole loan owners, monolines and various national bank clients. Prior to his role at Specialized Loan Servicing LLC, he worked at The Winter Group (Terwin Advisors, LLC) as the Vice President of the MBS transaction management team responsible for subprime, Alt A, second lien and HELOC securitization, whole loan acquisition and sale, repo financing and security settlements. Prior to The Winter Group, he held various roles at JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, and Credit Suisse First Boston in structured finance services, master servicing, whole loan financing, and banking.
